"Flowers for Elizabeth" recently painted for a friend
Friends are such a wonderful treasure. They laugh with you. They cry with you. They celebrate with you, cheer you on, pick you up, sit in the silence, and make everything fun. I have written about friends on this site many times….college friends I have know forever that know me inside and out….new friends that you meet and instantly “click.” New or old, it doesn’t really matter, a friend is just the best thing ever.
Well, Tuesday was one of those days that was just overflowing with friends. The art and jewelry show from this week was held at the home of a very dear friend who I just love and adore.
At the show, I met a new friend, Lesli DeVito, who I mentioned in a post yesterday. One of her fantastic doggies is pictured below.
One of the other artists featured at the show this week, Marietta Murphy, has been a friend for many years. It is always a treat to spend the day with Marietta. She made it extra special for me yesterday by sharing the tune that goes along with a favorite Psalm. (Be glad you can’t hear me sing this.) ”Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” Psalm 51:10 Marietta paints marsh landscapes, abstracts, and beautiful butterflies.
A friend of Marietta’s drove up for the show all the way from Columbia, SC. Well this friend brought along her friend, Amy, who just happened to be the younger sister of, Weezie, one my favorite friends from my years living in Atlanta!! What a small world and how wonderful to reconnect with both Amy and Weezie. We took pics, we sent texts, and chatted just like we had seen each other yesterday.

Hope your day is full of friends….old friends, new friends…lots of friends.
